School of Business Admission Requirements

Master Degrees and Certificates
Required Documents for Admission:
- Complete an application of admission with fee.
- Submit an official transcript from the institution granting your baccalaureate degree and official transcripts for any other graduate level work. All transcripts used for admission purposes must be from an accredited college or university recognized by CHEA and the Higher Education Directory.
Regular Admission
- A 2.8 cumulative undergraduate GPA is required for the following degrees: MBA, MBA-Entrepreneurship, MHA, MSCIS, MSDS, and MSITM, and Certificates in Finance and Health Administration.
- A 2.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA is required for the following degrees and certificates: MOL, MPA, MSA, and Certificates in Human Resources, Leadership, and Sports Administration.
- In lieu of undergraduate GPA, applicants who have 9 credit hours of master level courses in a comparable discipline with a 3.0 GPA or higher in each course can be considered for admission.
- Successful completion (with a grade of C or better) of college algebra or a higher mathematics course is required for the MBA, MBA-Entrepreneurship, and MSDS degrees.
Conditional Admission
Applicants who do not meet the regular admission requirements, but show the potential for success in a graduate program, may be admitted on a conditional basis. Additional documentation required:
- Submit an essay outlining your educational goals
- Provide two letters of recommendation.
Conditional acceptance may be granted based on the decision of the admission committee.
Preliminary Admission
Students who provide unofficial documentation (such as transcripts) may be admitted preliminarily. These students will be given thirty days from the beginning date of the first course to provide official documentation to the admission office or risk being removed from class. A student cannot be certified for financial aid until they are officially admitted to the University.
International Graduate Applicants
International graduate applicants from non-English speaking countries must also submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 79 iBT, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) of 6.5, or the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) of 70. Scores must be no more than two years old and must be verifiable.
