TEL 619 - Ethics, Advocacy, and Leadership (3) GR
This foundational course exposes candidates to the legal provisions and ethical implications of the laws and court decisions related to the education of ELLs (e.g., Lau v. Nichols, Plessy v. Ferguson. Candidates will also learn how local, state, and national regulations impact design and implementation of ESL programs. Candidates will learn what advocating for students and their families resemble and the leadership skills necessary for building relationships and participating professional learning.
