This didactic and clinical course focuses on the provision of health assessment, using both nursing and developmental theories. Emphasis is placed on taking a thorough nursing history, performing physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual assessments, as well as identification of health risks, to assist in the formulation of an individualized plan of care. Written and verbal communication skills will be developed through the use of the correct terminology for documentation and communication of findings to other members of the intra- and interdisciplinary health care team. Simulation skills laboratory experiences provide an opportunity to practice assessment skills which will be utilized on clients across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Audits Not Allowed
