The United States and the World: 1924-Present This course is the fourth in a four-course survey of American history. Beginning in the Roaring Twenties-when U.S. economic affluence and cultural innovations fired the American imagination-this course concludes with a discussion of recent American history. Additional topics covered include the Great Depression, U.S. involvement in World War II, the Civil Rights Movement, the Cold War-particularly the Korean and Vietnam Wars, the cultural revolutions of the 1960s and 1970s, the Watergate Scandal, and the shaping of contemporary political conservatism and liberalism.
